My leadership style
I am an experienced educator, researcher and change maker, who has been consistently managing teams, mentoring colleagues and more importantly driving change to ultimately create better and more equal places and societies. In my everyday work and life, I am committed to listening to different voices as to account for the multiplicity of views and needs.
My current role: BSP Director of Research and Member of the BSP Leadership Team (since 2023)
Since 2023,I have been serving as BSP Director of Research, as member of the BSP Leadership Team, and of the Faculty Research Advisory Group and REF Forum.
Through these roles, I contribute to promoting positive collegial behaviour across BSP, the Bartlett Faculty, and UCL, as well as to the effective running of administration and governance, encouraging inclusive and collegial operations. I lead on key strategic decisions about research support and funding (e.g. peer review, training, research budget allocation, ECR support), REF preparation and assessment, as well as communication and marketing.
Equality, diversity, and inclusivity for staff and students are embedded into my role and the BSP New Research Strategy, which I co-designed and implemented from January 2024. The latter strongly engages with the needs of Early Career Researchers and how to foster an inclusive and supportive research culture.
My strategic input and advice directly inform the Head of School in areas beyond the remit of research (e.g. higher education strategic directions, student recruitment, communication and marketing) as part of bi-weekly meetings.
As part of my leadership role at BSP, since September 2024, I have been leading the BSP China Taskforce, spearheading collaborations with the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Tongji University, Shanghai University, and the British Consulate in Shanghai. Doing so rests upon my demonstrable experience of successfully operating within a highly complex landscape of stakeholders and navigating distinct cultures.
